Front row seats...

Have you ever had front row tickets? I haven't but last weekend my girls sure did. They absolutely loved it.

What were their front row seats too? Pops grilling up some hamburgers and hot dogs on the deck. They thought this was the coolest. Of Course Aunt Mar-Mar is supervising them. To me, this is priceless. Got to love the mind of a 2 and 3 year old. Thanks for being so stinking cute girls. :)

My mouth hurts...

So the other night I was sitting on the floor going through clothes. Gracie comes up to me with this painful look on her face. She said that her mouth hurt. I asked her what happened. As she was holding her bottom lip she kept saying something about Baby. (aka Lilly) I really couldn't understand what she was saying. So I gave her a hug and told her it would be ok. She walked away and didn't say anything about it the rest of the night.

As I was walking into the kitchen a few hours later, I realized a bag of chips were open. I thought this was strange b/c Danny wasn't home and I know I didn't eat them. As I go to flip the bag over it then hit me. My poor Gracie, I knew what she had been saying!

Can you guess what kind of chips they were? Well if you guessed jalapeno you are correct. Yep, "Baby" had given her a jalapeno chip. Yikes, I felt like such a bad mother.

I took that bag to Gracie and asked her if this is what she had eaten. She shook her head yes and I gave her a hug.

As you can see she is all better now! Guess I need to watch what I put on the counter! haha.

a great end to the day...

On Friday afternoon, after a long exhausting week, I came home to find two great treasures on my front porch. I was so excited by seeing the small 8x11 package in the mailbox that I almost missed the big bread stick box sitting on my door step. Last week I had made two purchases. One was for my mother. I can't show any pictures b/c a) it's for her birthday and b) she reads my blog ( like a good mother :) ) So I promise I will post pictures after Saturday. It's so neat, I know she will love it.

The other purchase was for myself. There is this great etsy shop called ginger's girl ( www.etsy.com/shop/GingersGirl ) . She has the neatest vintage items. She too is a fan of American pickers and has quite an eye for vintage pieces. Check out these awesome vintage canisters I got for my kitchen. Can't wait to put them to good use.

My Machine ate me...

That was the title of the email my husband sent me. And this is the picture....

That's a big machine. I know it's called a Haus and that's it. I unfortunately am not well versed in machine language so I can't tell you anymore. I just wanted to share the picture. Isn't he funny? And he has officially made it on my blog! (I just know he is thrilled ;) )

The Pacific

One of my new favorite hobbies is watching anything WWII related. A series that's on right now that we love to watch is The Pacific. It's a 10 part mini series on Sunday nights at 9pm on HBO. It's based off the two books "With the old bread" and "Helmet for my Pillow" It's an amazing series. I get so emotional watching it. It truly is an Act of God that anyone got out alive. I thank God every time I watch it for the Brave Men and Women who fight and have fought for our Country. If you have HBO, you need to watch it. For those that have young kids, I would wait till to they go to bed, there is some "adult" content.

Cute things said...

So almost daily Gracie will say something so cute or just ridiculous. I have tried writing them down, but let's be honest, I just don't. Lilly is just now putting words together to form short sentences so nothing too funny has been said yet. I'm sure it's only a matter of time. So here are a few I have remembered.

* Gracie, "Mommy, Lilly isn't cute anymore"

* Gracie, "Did your mommy give this to you?"

Me, "Yes Gracie she did"

Gracie, "But you are the mommy?"

(We are working on explaning who people are....guess she isn't getting it. )

* Gracie - "Mommy your hair is crazy."

Me - "you mean Curly!"

Gracie - "No Crazy, You don't look good!" - said at 7am Wednesday morning as we are walking out the door.....
