Funny things said

The other day after church I took the girls to Once Upon A Child. We arrived a little early so I decided to go and get the girls a quick snack to hold them over till lunch. There was a White Castles very close, I thought that would be fine since they have little hamburgers. I pulled up to the window and ordered 3 single sliders 2 with no onion or pickles. When pulling around to the window Gracie asked me why I hadn't ordered anything. I told her I did. She said. "Well did you order in Spanish?" ☺

October wrap up

Not sure if I am been busy or just not motivated. I have been neglecting my blog because I just haven't had the extra energy. But I missed you all and thought I would catch you up.

My Birthday(s) were all great. My husbands side of the family through me a great birthday. It was called "An evening in the field" You all know by now that my husband grew up on a farm, well this also comes with eating a lot of family meals in the field out of the back of a pick up. My SIL thought it would be nice to recreate this for me. It was so much fun and kind of hope we do it every year. My BIL, her husband Brian, did a nice post that I will add here. You should check it out. Thanks Butlers for all you did, I had a wonderful time.

The only other big event was Halloween. We took the girls to our Church on Saturday. I don't have a lot to say because it was kind of a dud. I don't say this to be mean but since my girls are 4 and 3 they honestly could only do 4 games and 2 of the games I had to "help" Lilly. Good news I did, I mean Lilly, won a fish! His name is Hal short for Halloween. The girls love it. I think Danny is hoping we keep the fish and get rid of the cat. Or hoping the dog eats the cat. ( j/k)

Maybe next year I could volunteer to help think of games for the younger children. But in all actuallality we thank them for their efforts.

Halloween night was awesome. We took the girls to my dad's neigboor hood to go TOT. All of my immediate family met at my dads, we had Awesome Chicken chilli, cornbread, and my mom's famous pumpkin bars and a pumpkin roll.

My Dad and Lilly

After dinner we went TOT. Gracie of course loved it. She took charge and wanted to ring every door bell. Poor Lilly, after the second house she asked for her stroller. She is tiny and always feels she needs to remind us she has tiny legs. She got carried a lot.

Gracie was Sleeping Beauty and Lilly was Tinkerbelle

Aunt Marica helped a lot! She is an awesome Aunt

Gracie asked if the skeleton was real, still not sure she checked it out with her wand.

After we went TOT we sat outside and passed out candy to the rest of the neighboor hood.

October was great. Now I am excited for November and Thanksgiving! Yummy.

The New Mom Jeans

Today we were allowed to wear jeans to work if we paid $5. All the money was going to the Breast Cancer walk some of our employees are participating in tomorrow. We all love jean day so of course I participated. Well I also had to be at work early today to open the front desk which means I work up at 5:15am. I only got 6 hours of sleep.

At 12noon I took my lunch break and went to use the little girl's room. And in there I noticed that my jeans were just horrible, I hated the way the looked on me and the way it made my figure look. They weren't flattering at all, they were actually quite boxy. I remember them being a boot cut, I didn't realize though that was term for boyish. As I am stretching, which by the way is completely normal thing for me to do in the bathroom, squats, leg lifts, a little Tae boe, Anyway that is when I realized...................I had on freaking MAN jeans. Are you serious, I have on Danny's Jeans? Which actually is quite awesome because if anyone has ever met Danny he is a little on the skinny side.

I was so embarrassed that I immediately told at least 5 of my friends, who were also amazed. One of them said, Hey at least he wasn't wearing yours. Now that I would like to see! Nevermind, I wouldn't

So about a month ago, my mom made a silly fashion error and wore her shrug upside down, to a very nice restaurant. We all made fun of her and I said to her quote " How could you do that and not notice" Touche Breanne Touche.

Note to self, no matter what time you get up in the morning, please make sure you grab your own jeans!

My Birthday, Bonfires and Books

2 weekends ago we celebrated my birthday with my side of the family. We had a bonfire, roasted marshmallows made dough boys and ate chili. We started the weekend off by attending the Franklin City Fall Festival. This is a cute picture of the girls with Danny, they thought they were hiding from me but I had my camera ready. You should have heard their squeals (especially Danny :) )

My mom has a tradition where all of us have to take a picture with our cake and candles. 28 about sent to Pumpkin Pie on Fire.

Did you see that cute little girl trying to blow out momma's candles.....

One of my presents was a Nook. I was so excited. I still haven't quite figured everything out but I love it. I am having a hard time figuring out what book to buy. I definitely want to add the KJV Bible but would like suggestions on anything else you think I need to have!

Here I am roasting a dough boy. Thanks to the Butlers for that Tradition. It is basically just a biscuit wrapped around a stick, toast it in the fire then add butter and cinnamon and sugar. Delish!

Lilly kept trying to roast a marshmallow but the smoke was too intense for her, so my sweet aunt shielded her eyes for her.

Here is my mom and pops. They sure know how to throw a great party.

Mommy!

As you can see from her hoodie and sun-kissed tan, she just got back from Hawaii.

By the end of the night the smoke was definitely playing with my eyes too. This is the best of 3 pictures.

On my real birthday my work friends took me out to lunch to Scotty's Brewhouse. The have the most amazing Fried Dill Pickles. Yummy. Well the servers also brought me out a birthday ice cream with a candle. Thankfully they didn't sing or embarrass me!

This weekend we are going to hang out with Danny's side. We, Elaine, are cooking in cast iron skillets over the fire. I am making my hot apple cider and carmel apple salad. I will post those pictures later. Have a great weekend everyone. P.s. I am going to the Colts game on Sunday. Yeah Yeah I know, they are 4-0. But people I am a true Colts fan, not some band wagoner! hehe

my alter ego

Usually for the Fall I will die my hair a darker color. Well here is the new me.....

It's my alter ego Bridgett

She is a little spunkier and edgier then Breanne.

When I told a co-worker this he said, "oh you mean your a pregnant Breanne" lol, guess you had to know me when I was pregnant, apparently I was no nonsense type of girl to put it nicely.

Most of my family members don't like the brown as much as my natural blonde. Understandable but I really enjoy the change. In a couple of months though I will be begging for my blonde back though.

The first day of Autumn is Friday!!!! Although I am a little disappointed in myself that I haven't yet put my fall stuff up yet. Shame Shame.

My birthday wish list

My birthday is in 2 weeks and 2 days! Whoot Whoot for me. :)

If you are having a hard time deciding on what to get me let me help you out a bit...

1. I really need this pumpkin spice syrup, and at $7.95 what a Deal. I couldn't even buy 2 pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks for that price.

2. These adorable Fall riding boots. Size 8 1/2 please ( Ps. I will take them from any store as long as they are similar in color - Hey I am not picky.)

3. This adorable pyrex/corning ware dish. I can't believe I don't have this pattern in my collection. It is so cute

4.A plain white collared shirt. Looks so cute layered underneath a cute sweater with belt.

5. A Nook/Kindle/E-reader. I know I am really going out on a limb here but what if one of my friend's wins the lottery? Wouldn't I be foolish for not asking?

6. I always enjoy gift cards. I would like to buy new sweaters and jeans for the fall.

7. I would also like a date night with the hubby. We haven't been to Johnny Carinos in a long time.....

8. (just added) I also need a new crock pot, a bigger crock pot. I plan to use it a lot this fall/winter so much that I need two! :) I kind of dig the Lock and carry ( or whatever they are called)

Thanks for stopping by. I realize this wasn't fun for anyone else besides me! :)

Carmel apple salad

For those of you on Pinterest you have probably seen the pictures of the Carmel Apple Salad or also called Candy Apple Salad. Let me just tell you it is Delish! A co-worker made this salad yesterday and I loved it. It really does taste like a carmel apple.

The great part is the recipe is so simple:

Cool Whip
Apples - peeled, cored, diced
Grapes - sliced
Snickers bar - Frozen, chopped up
Mix it all together.

That's it. And oh so good. It would be perfect to make for any potluck.

Enjoy!!!

Gone with the Wind

So is it sad or bad that I have never seen Gone with the Wind? (or Casablanca or Breakfast at Tiffany's.) And I definitely haven't read it either.

My step-dad has an awesome collection of videos. Each Kid (remind you we are all in our 20's) has a rental card. We can check out a movie but have to bring it back before checking out another movie. My card was almost suspended once. Well I got really lucky because while my mom and Ken were on a super awesome vacation in Hawaii I got a 4 for 1 deal. One of the movies I picked was Gone with the Wind.

Wow first I didn't realize that it was 4 hours long, a 2 disk DVD. I am having a little trouble understanding exactly what everyone is saying but I get the gist of it. ;)

So I finished disk 1 and am on to disk 2. I am really enjoying it so far and can't wait to see the 2nd half.

I will say though that one thing I find really annoying is the constant playing of background music. At times I can hardly hear what the actors are trying to say. Other then that it is all good.

On a funny note. Gracie was in the room playing on her computer when the scene with Prissy talking to Scarlet about not knowing how to birth no baby was on. Gracie looked at me and said, " is she supposed to be a baby or something?" I thought that was funny. Was her that her real voice though or were they just trying to portray her as being younger?

So are there any other movies I should watch that are classics? What is your favorite part of the movie?

Funny things said by the girls

Leaving in Franklin there aren't many department stores. We have Kohl's and Wal-Mart. Kohl's is way to expensive for me, so if I need to buy socks and underwear for the girls I go to Wal-Mart. The girls think this is some sort of treat. They Love going to Wal-Mart.

While shopping we passed by an elderly lady and very nonchalantly Lilly said to me while pointing at her, "I want to eat her"

Unsure if the lady heard us or not, I then starting pushing the cart very swiftly....

A few minutes later, Lilly saw a man. The only resemblance he had of Danny was that his hair was very short and thinning. Lilly asked him if he was her Daddy. I started laughing only because I was uncomfortable. As the gentleman politely smiled at me I said. "Sorry, but she knows who her daddy is."

Usually when we go to Wal-Mart we see crazy people. Today we were the crazy people!

New favorite hobby

I have to admit, I am quite obsessed. I am a pinner!

I am addicted to pinterest. Tell me you have heard about it ( I know most of you have b/c you all are some crafty people)

So if you want to follow me just look me up.

For those of you that aren't sure what this is I will sum it up.

You create an account. You see something on the Internet you like/want/need or a diy project, you pin it and it goes onto a theme based board. You can make boards for your house, kitchen, your style, diy, crafts for children, the board titles are limitless. It is fun and addicting but for those that are feeling crafty it gives you great inspiration.

So have I peaked your interest? Are you already addicted?

Let the inspiration begin...

two yummy drink ideas

Two lights drinks you will love both taken from a WW website laaloosh

An easy DIY Frappuccino like from the ones we love at Starbucks

Or a delicious Mocktail (non-alcoholic) from Crystal Light. I just love fruity drinks.

So give them some love and check out their page for these delicious recipes.

Last night we went to my in-laws for dinner. Danny wanted all of us to walk out and see his tree stand so I decided to take an impromptu photo shoot. What do you think of my pictures?

We found 1 Deer track - we joked it must have been a 1 legged deer that took really long strides

Peekaboo I see you Sun

The next three pics are my favorite of the night...

I love this one of my in-laws, hubby and our kids. I also love how Lilly is holding her baby - too cute!

I love this one of Danny - so peacefull

Nights like this make me want to move to the country. I love working in the city but wouldn't mind living in the country!

P.S. I knew we were going to my in-laws but I didn't know we would be walking into the field. Guess that's why I call myself a city girl b/c this is what I was wearing...
I took each and every step very carefully.

Trader Joes

I am so excited! My mom and I are going to Trader Joes for the 1st time. I hear people talk about this place all the time and another WW blog I read always mentions food items in low points you can get at Trader Joes.

I am not really sure what to expect but am super excited. So is there anything special I just have to get there??? Any suggestions....

These sure do look delicious!

I am hoping to find Lilly some GF items cheaper than what my Kroger carries. And if not then at least I can say I experienced the store. Wish me luck.

Swimming

Indiana has been hot and each weekend I take the girls to my dad's community pool. It's nice because there are usually a few children there the same ages as my girls so they get to make friends. Plus I my brother meets us there so we get to catch up.

I have been taking lots of photos of them "swimming" The girls don't really know how to swim but like to wade in the pool. Well a couple of weeks ago Gracie finally listened to me and realize she could stay a float with her water-wings. She has been having fun swimming since. She does a lot of kicking without going anywhere, but each week she does improve. (Blogger isn't allowing me to upload a cute video :( sorry guys! )

There are only a couple of weeks left before the pool closes. My goal is to get Lilly to "swim" in the big pool by herself, or at least float by herself.

Stay cool out there in blog land!

Hog roast Birthday party

Danny turned 31 on July 11th. I always enjoy his birthday for a couple of reasons but mainly because we all get together at his parents house. Both my family and his. It's nice for everyone to catch up plus we all just have a good time. This year Danny wanted to have a hog roast. He researched it for a couple of months. At first we were going to do the whole hog then after he cam across a couple of blogs, yes blogs, he decided he was going to make a cinder block pit and roast pork butts. Pork butts really aren't butts but actually shoulders. A pork butt is also called a Boston Butt.

My mom has Danny and I hooked on Cherry Salsa. She usually orders it online from Wisconsin. I know it sounds weird but the sweetness is subtle and oh so good!

Danny's BIL Brian bought him an old school Track Ball Game. Brian actually bought Danny his first set when he was a little boy. Apparently it got broken....

Family and friends.

My bubbs, DJ ( isn't he handsome!) and his GF and our mom

As I was taking photos of the roasting process Danny made sure I got a picture of the fire with the pit so everyone got the ambiance. hehe

Raw butt with a mustard glaze - to keep all the juices in

The birthday boy and his homemade roaster/pit

He kept it covered with a piece from a shed.

Don't those look Yummy!

They cooked in 300 degrees for about 6 hours - Until the internal temperature of the hog was 175 degrees.

We ended up getting 3 butts to serve 30 people. That was WAY too much but it was nice because I bagged it up and gave several away. Plus the two of us ate on it for about 3 days. I highly recommend this to everyone.

When I find the original blog site I will post it on here. I want to give credit where credit is due! :)
