It's coming...

They say a big Winter Storm is coming that may affect 30 different states with 1-2 inches of ICE in the Indy area. Well I am freaking out. Literally as I am typing this I am having my 4th anxiety attack for the day. Why you ask, Well a couple of weeks ago when there was ice on our road I once again slid off and into a ditch. I was with my girls and Gracie and I hit our head on the window/door area. We were ok and so was the car but Danny did have to come and pull us out. While waiting for Danny to arrive there were 9 different emergency/good Samaritans that stopped to see if we needed help. Gracie also felt the need to tell me that I "need to be more careful when driving" and that I "needed to pay attention!" Well thank you Gracie I will do my best not to purposely drive on ice and slide off the road. sheesh!

Anyway I am freaking out. But I have learned my lesson and if it is ICY I am staying home. So I am packing up some work items and taking them home with me just in case.

I might even rent some Redbox movies tonight.

Everyone be careful out there!

A present

I got a wonderful present yesterday

These beautiful flowers

Here is the conversation of what happened next....

Me: What did you do ( laughing)

D: Nothing ( laughing)

Me: No seriously what did you do?

D: Nothing.

Me: Are you going to do something ( laughing)

D: No ( laughing) They are just because....

Me: Well that's really sweet!

D: I bet you were the only one who got a present on Martin Luther King day. You can post that on your facebook.

Me: Yep your probably right, it's not a big flower day.

Sweet though right! :) In all fairness he probably got scared and thought it was Valentine's Day. haha j/k

I made a big oops...

Why do we hurt the people we love? It seems as though the people we love the most we hurt the most at times. Maybe it's because we are insecure, we haven't dealt with our feelings properly or we snap at someone because we know they love us unconditional and will always be there.

Maybe this isn't you, or maybe this is how you feel.

Last night my husband brought me home flowers just to say he loves me. How do I repay him, by snapping at him later that night. Why do you ask? Because I let my feelings bottle up.

I don't usually sweat the small stuff and that's why I have a great relationship with my husband. But sometimes if you catch me at a weak moment I come crumbling down. I let a couple weeks worth of frustration out on my undeserving husband.

So I asked for forgiveness, prayed that I wouldn't act like that again and would be more loving in my tone and words when expressing my opinions. I also need to learn that it's not all about me and how I feel. I have a great husband and he needs to know that.

On a funnier note I texted him today re-apologizing. One of his comments back to me was " I thought we were filming an episode of Snapped" ( Google it if you aren't sure what I am referring too.) It's not a compliment but humor is a way we both know everything is ok. If we aren't laughing together I know there is an issue.

Ok on to a better day!

Gracie's Birthday suggestions...

Aunt Marcia: Gracie what do you want for your Birthday?

Gracie: A booster seat!

M: A booster seat???

Me: Gracie you're getting a booster seat b/c you are turning 4 but it's not one of your presents.

Now that's a practical kid! :)

A couple of days later.....

Me: Gracie have you thought of anything else you want for your birthday?

Gracie: Yes!

Me: Alright, like what?

Gracie: A scary movie...

Me: A Scary Movie!??? What kind???

Gracie: You know, like Sponge Bob!

Me: ( chuckle) OK what else?

Gracie: A scooter and a skateboard!

Me: I think you have been hanging around too many boys!

So for those of you wanting to know what to get Gracie for her birthday, well I haven't' got a clue. :) good luck!!!!

How many feathers...

How many feathers are in a Down pillow?

I say about this many.

Thanks Danny and Thank you Marley.

It was a lot of fun crawling into the cage, getting on my hands and knees and cleaning up such a wonderful mess. A mess that I told my wonderful husband would happen but he didn't believe me and gave his wonderful dog the pillow anyway.
Side note, those little feathers really know how to sneak their way into your clothing.

2010 Wrap up

To wrap up 2010 Danny and I decided to do something fun with the girls so we took them ( and friends) to Pizza King Station and then bowling. While we were paying and getting our things together Gracie decided to open the doors by herself. Since Lilly does everything Gracie does, she tried to open the doors after Gracie and got her thumb smashed in between the two heavy doors. I can't go into the rest because it was very emotional to me and makes me sick to my stomach to relive it. We bandaged her up and then still went bowling. She was a good sport and decided to bowl, with one hand. We weren't allowed to touch, look or even get near her thumb. She held her hand in a way that we almost wondered if she had seriously hurt her thumb. The girls actually had fun bowling. My BFF, her husband and son also went. It was her little man's first time bowling and he also had a great time. He is always such a good kid and him and our girls always get along so well together.

See how she is holding her hand, she held it there for 3 days. :(

Danny's "White Lightning" Ball. He scored a 201, his highest ever.

Danny and our friends bowling

Aren't Lilly's feet adorable!

We taught Grace how to bowl Grandma Style

We obviously had to help Lilly, but she had a lot of fun

Halfway through the first game the kids starting getting tired. So we asked for the ramp. All the kids had to do was put their ball on the ramp and it rolled right down the lane, pretty neat!

Go Gracie!

My Poppy would be so proud. He left us the "love of Bowling" Gene! :)
